The start of an exciting new journey!

Hi all,

My name's Natasha and I'm so thrilled to be starting the MAPP Somatic Students Course here with MDX Uni alongside you all!

It was during my Dance Degree that I was initially introduced to massage and it has remained the constant in my life. It has allowed me to continue to explore movement, develop strength and transfer my knowledge of anatomy and bio-mechanics when helping to assist in providing the best possible practice treatment with my students and clients. I aim to help my clients learn about their own proprioception and delve deeper into understanding their own anatomy along with the natural rhythms of the body.

As a qualified Sports Massage and Remedial Soft Tissue Therapist I work as a member of the Physical Support Team at London Contemporary Dance School, delivering effective soft tissue treatments, rehabilitation and training exercises for the students. I also run my own practice under the name Align Massage in East London. You can check out what I do in more detail and have a listen to my podcast over at https://linktr.ee/AlignMassage

I am fascinated with the body's framework and am excited to delve back into study to discover more of its endless possibilities. I'm looking forward to stimulating my senses and imagination once again and to reflect on my current practice. My interests lie in movement reeducation, I want to question the ideologies behind our movement and research the process of tuning into our senses to help modulate range of motion in dancers and non-dancers alike (albeit who knows if these questions will change as my study goes on)!

Either way, I hope you'll join me in this space, as I begin to navigate my way through this new and exciting journey of study! I hope for this blog to be an exciting place us to discuss, consider and review any questions or thoughts I have over the coming year regarding my considerations and findings through research.
